This last weekend brought 48 teams and nearly 1,500 competitors, coaches, and judges to Sylvania for the 2019 Sylvania Rotary Invitational.  Speech and Debaters from all over the state (and beyond!) braved the polar vortex and descended on our community.  This tournament is a highly anticipated and attended the event every year, and 2019 was no exception.  With students orating and debating at Northview, Southview, and McCord, the contest was fierce, as competitors gear up for state and national qualifiers.  With the support of our parent organization, student competitors, student volunteers, Northview alumni, and members of our community, they were able to keep the mass of students, judges, and coaches well-fed and happy.  Northview’s ever-expanding team brought forth a mighty showing, proving their Wildcat Spirit.  All of our competitors debated decisively and spoke spectacularly, and our own Cecile Schreidah and Nina Liebes placed 3rd in their respective categories of Original Oratory and Declamation.  Their coaches could not be more grateful for the support they have received, and are excited to finish this season on a high note!

The Wrestling Team continues to show well, both in dual meets and in the large tournaments.  Below, you can see Conner Liber handling his Anthony Wayne opponent.  Congratulations to Tucker, Conner, and Cole on placing at the Perrysburg Invitational Tournament.
