We hope that all of our families have enjoyed a rewarding holiday season. As the first semester wound down over the past couple of weeks, our students were busy wrapping up final projects, 2nd Quarter academic work, and preparing for semester examinations. In fact, if you visited a Sylvania library in the days before exams, you would have seen scores of Wildcats, packed into the study cubicles and quiet spaces, working to review everything they learned this past couple of months…
The Random Acts of Kindness Club made exams more palatable, creating exam survival kits and greeting nervous students at the door last week to give them a little hope in a Ziplock baggie.
Mrs. Rauscher’s freshmen English students wrapped up their work on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet by creating stop-motion animation videos, illustrating key scenes from the work.
Sylvania Rotary honored two members of our Swim and Dive Team for their leadership and achievement. Community members were delighted to hear about the two school records recently set by Kevin Gaynor.
Mrs. Loyd’s Academic Strategies students invested time in building their vocabularies, examining root words and making connections between them.
Mrs. Thiel’s musicians were treated to a training session with the DePue Brothers professional band this past week. She equated this opportunity to the Cleveland Indians coming to Northview to work with our baseball team. Our students enjoyed their play, in addition to big group and sectional instruction. Mrs. Thiel taught some of the band members when they were high school students in Bowling Green. Her lasting relationship with these gifted professionals led them to come to Northview to work with our kids.
Our band and orchestra students hosted their annual winter concert, shortly before the break, treating audience members to a variety of holiday and ethnic music.
Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Saverstrom’s students joined the holiday spirit by making cookies, alongside some of our Interact volunteers.
Student Council used their platform to nourish those in need this holiday season, donating 500 cans of food to Sylvania Area Family Services.
The Northview Choral program put on a wonderful holiday concert last week. Check out some of the highlight videos below. You will be glad you did.

The Boys Basketball Team is still on a roll, racking up wins over Southview, Perrysburg, and Waite. These young men will travel to Scott High School this weekend, and attempt to remain undefeated on the season. Check out the game highlights below…
At halftime of the Northview-Southview game, Senior Alek West was honored with a plaque, commemorating his distinction as First Team All-Ohio in soccer this season.
The Northview Band helped fill up the stands for the game against the Cougars, welcoming home dozens of alumni to play…
The Wrestling Team continues to build, earning a 63-12 win over Southview. They lost a tough contest with Anthony Wayne last week, but had a great showing at the Findlay Wrestling Tournament. Freshman Cole McKinley was tournament champion, Sophomore Conner Liber finished as runner-up, and several more Wildcats ended up on the podium.
