Goodwill is more than resale stores, just like our big football game against AW this Friday is about more than football. Goodwill gathers our clothes, our furniture, our old electronics, and even cars. They sell our unwanted items, and use the proceeds to offer job training for the unemployed. Basically, they give our neighbors who are down on their luck an opportunity to make a better lives for themselves. All of that is made possible by the rest of us taking time to donate old items. Today through Thursday, the Sylvania Northview and Anthony Wayne communities are competing to see who can donate the most pounds of items to Goodwill. The community that brings in the biggest number of pounds wins, and will also secure a scholarship for a high school student from their school. You can drop off items at the Goodwill truck located at the top of the hill near Maplewood. Someone will be there to receive your items from 10AM until 6PM on Tuesday and Wednesday and then 10-4 on Thursday. All items must be dropped off by Thursday at 4PM to count for the competition.
Calling all Wildcats: let’s “beat” the Generals this week by giving more, and then root for our boys on Friday night to bring home the W. #GoCats
