Senior Jessica Aldrich wins high school, college twirling competition

JAldrich.jpgIn September, Senior Jessica Aldrich competed in Twirling Unlimited’s Regional baton twirling competition at Perrysburg High School.  Jessica represented Sylvania Northview in the Twirling Unlimited Regional Feature Twirler contest.  Not only did Jessica compete against other regional high school majorettes, she competed against regional college majorettes as well in the competition, and achieved a first place win.  Our entire group of twirlers add a fantastic component to our Marching Band show each week, and Jessica helps to lead the crew.

Wildcat Way Awards say thank you, students.

Northview teachers and staff honored students for personifying our core values during the first quarter with Wildcat Way Awards.  Congratulations to our students and thank you to our faculty for noticing the good stuff.

@NVStudentGov Powder Puff ’17 mathematics: 2017 > 2018

The Seniors scored early and often, defeating the Juniors in the annual Powder Puff Football Game at Cats Stadium this week.  Hundreds gathered to watch the girls take center stage in the week leading up to the big rivalry football game.  The Northview Football Team players coached the girls, and Coach Downing and Coach Blakeman refereed.  After the game, the students were treated to a bonfire, thanks to Student Council and the Sylvania Fire Department.

Senior Sophia Muir delivers an inspirational halftime speech to her teammates…

Senior Brandon Leach gave the girls a serious Xs and Os lesson on the sideline.

Junior AJ Bernsdorff reviews the game plan with his pupils…

…which turned out to be his math homework, which might explain the final score.

Sylvania Northview Boys Golf finishes in top 10 in Ohio

On a beautiful couple of days last weekend, the Sylvania Northview golfers took to the Ohio State University Golf Course, and competed with the very best in the state.  The Northview Girls Golf Team was represented by Junior Lexi Knight, who helped lead the LadyKats to an NLL Championship this season.  Lexi finished in the top 50 in the state of Ohio in her first appearance at States.  The Boys Golf Team, also coming off an NLL title, finished a great weekend as the 9th placing team in the state.  Seniors Jack Kunkel and Andy Riggs led the way.  Andy finished 11th in the state, and Jack earned 2nd Team All-Ohio honors.  If you know these young men and young woman, you know how much of themselves they invested into their season, both this fall and over the summer.  We could not be more proud of their work to develop their talents.

Northview Girls Cross Country wins District Championship; Boys & Girls qualify for Regionals

Tiffin, Ohio is about to be invaded by a bunch of cats.  Wildcats, that is.  Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin is the site of the Regional Championships today, and both the boys and girls races will feature the Sylvania Northview Wildcats after solid performances at the District Championships last weekend in Findlay.  The young boys team qualified to compete as a team today, while the girls took home the 1st place District Championship.   Senior Jenna Kill anchored the Wildcats by winning the race.  We wish these student-athletes the best of luck as they strive to advance to Columbus next weekend!  #GoFastCats
