Let’s make sportsmanship a thing again…

Standard

Senior Alyson O’Lenic took the microphone before our final volleyball home game of the season this week, and read a statement that expressed appreciation for all that our officials have done this fall to let us play the sports we love on this big stage.  The message, authored , in part, by Junior Aubrey Nemire, explained that we need to do a better job of not reacting emotionally to the calls made by officials who are doing their very best to be accurate and fair to all parties.  Aubrey’s desire to write this message and have it delivered in front of a crowded gym, giving parents, coaches, and players a chance to give our officials a warm ovation, came from her work at the NLL Sportsmanship Summit a few weeks ago.  Alyson, Aubrey, and their classmates are working to raise the bar for coaches, players, and spectators alike.
