Spotted over these past couple weeks at NV…

Engineering students are working on designing, constructing, and testing bridges.  They are also launching rockets for the TARC competition.

Members of our Leadership Academy talked to Justin Yang of Google about his path from Sylvania Schools to Columbia University in New York, to Google in San Francisco, where he is working on market share and Google products for the workplace.  Justin used Sylvania’s rigorous curriculum and plentiful extra-curricular offerings to prepare himself for he collegiate level.  There, Justin learned to appreciate speaking up and organizing his peers to make his environment better.

Several students reached out to junior high students in our area to help build them up through Project Hope.

Students in Mrs. Cafferty’s Medical Technology I class are planning their own service learning project, organizing an outreach to a family in need in our community over the holidays.

They also spent time recently making blankets for a local veterans’ facility.

Many of our musicians earned a spot on the Regional Orchestra and performed with other outstanding high school musicians from our area.

Our Medical Technology II students hosted their annual blood drive recently, putting their skills to use.

…and our alumni are continuing to shine on every stage imaginable.
