Northview students host dance marathon, raise $13,670 for local charity

226 Sylvania Northview students participated in their third annual dance marathon, titled danceGOLD, on Saturday night.  Students raised pledge money and promised to stay on their feet all night long.  Throughout the course of the night, participants were divided into four teams, and they competed in a wide variety of events.  A line dance highlighted each hour.  Team Jive walked away with the trophy, that took into account points earned throughout the night, who raised the most money, and most spirited team.  Sophomore Jayden Bolden was crowned Mr. Northview after a rock solid performance of serenading the judges with My Girl.  The end result was that the students has a blast, and their efforts yielded a large check that they turned over to the Victory Center, an organization in Sylvania that helps cancer patients deal with their difficult journey.  Congratulations to our National Honor Society members and their adviser Mrs. Omey for hosting a wonderful event!
